      @VoipioT @mcclure111 I know it's been known for a long time; but, when you either inherit a project that didn't have that in mind or run into an issue where someone didn't anticipate > 3 bytes/char (which a number of devs that I've worked with seem to think 2 bytes/char is the max for UTF-8).

    @VoipioT @mcclure111 As far as my app is concerned, I didn't intend that particular field to be expanded in use compared to how I designed the database and app back in 2007. It wasn't until I wanted to start using Unicode emojis did I then learn that the utf8 == utf8mb3 vs utf8mb4.
