I picked up a Dell OptiPlex 7070 Micro from the Dell Outlet with an i7-9700 and 32 GB of RAM. I pulled out the OG SSD and dropped in a 500 GB boot SATA SSD and a 1 TB NVMe SSD for storing VMs. It's running ESXi 7.0 U2. That's now running my dev VMs + secondary DNS server

I have a Dell Precision 3430 SFF (that I also picked up from the Dell Outlet few years ago) that now has an i5-8600, 32 GB of RAM, two 240 GB SATA SSDs and 1 TB NVMe SSD. It's running my Plex VM and will run network services (including primary DNS server)

Finished setting up the DNS servers tonight as I'm slowly moving away from mDNS/Avahi for local server name resolution. I'd rather have control over my own internal DNS zone. Used to run my own internal DNS servers years ago when things like mDNS weren't available or were janky.

Next weekend (or following) will be fun when I replace the routing/firewall portion of my network with a pfSense box (Netgate SG3100) and do some reorganization of my networking.

Also on the list is trying to find some time to play around with Prometheus for local VM monitoring; and, maybe see what kind of instrumentation I can do with my Python web apps.
