      @LuigiThirty I think you may need to enable both LAN Manager authentication and plain-text auth in smb.conf in newer versions of Samba to allow for legacy OSes to authenticate and access shares properly. I may have seem something similar (though may not be exactly the same) re: Sonos + smbd

    @LuigiThirty I may also require disabling any kind of NTLM/NTLMv2 auth in the config as well. I can't remember if that's specific to Windows 95 or if that's true for client OSes pre Windows 2000. It's been way too long since I've played in that space.
